The EH&S Journey: Challenges, Successes, Program Development and Recognizing Opportunities

November’s Chapter Presentation is an exciting one! We welcome back Keith Rego, whom some of us met two months ago, to spend more time with us. Keith will be digging deeper into the challenges associated with building successful EH&S programs, how to manage and overcome those challenges, recognizing and capitalizing on opportunities we may be presented with and more. Keith is the Senior Director of Global EH&S at Illumina and  a bit more on his upcoming talk and background is found below.

We look forward to seeing you! Bring a co-worker along with you, or a friend. This November’s topic is well-suited for all levels of EH&S professionals and will benefit HR professionals with safety and health responsibilities as well.

Thank you, we look forward to your participation on Nov. 8th! (We’ll be finished in time for you to still vote!)

Our journeys in EH&S and safety management all have taken a different path. Whether we are technical specialists, insurance professionals, regulatory representatives, trainers or, managers, we are all safety leaders, with both organizational and personal growth and development goals. Our success often hinges on taking advantage of opportunities that are presented to us, but largely focused on how we prepare and make ourselves ready for those opportunities.

Keith will share his thoughts, some challenges he’s faced, experiences and successes on several fronts. As the Global Director for EH&S for Illumina, Inc., one of the largest bio-technology firms globally, Keith has personally grown from a staff position, to a manager and now, Global Director. He will share how he prepared for those opportunities, highlighting education, training, teaching, the role of certifications and industry engagement. Keith will also highlight how he has been able to leverage these activities into successful global programs at Illumina.

Each of us will see a little bit of our personal story in Keith’s presentation. He will help us highlight both critical considerations toward recognizing opportunities for growth as well as ideas on plotting the course for future successes, both short and long term.
