Steve Simon is a senior Risk Control Manager at Safety National where he is responsible for managing risk control functions and coordinating risk control services for policyholders.  Steve joined Safety National in 2021 as a Senior Risk Control Manager. Prior to joining Safety National, Steven worked as a Risk Control Service Director for a large commercial insurance carrier. Additionally, he worked as a Risk Manager for a private industry overseeing the workers’ compensation, general liability and auto/fleet programs.  Steve has a master of science degree in safety, security and emergency from Eastern Kentucky University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Psychology from California State University, Northridge.  He has also earned a number of designations including ARM, CEAS, CET, and CHS.

Steve Thompson founded Aspen Risk Management Group (now part of TRISTAR), where the Aspen Team is dedicated to saving lives, preventing injuries and illnesses, and protecting clients from harm. He is the co-author of “Workplace Safety: A Guide for Small and Midsized Companies,” as well as the safety and ergonomics chapters in “Foundation for Optimal Productivity” (DMEC) and “Tools of the Trade” (DMEC).  Before his safety and risk career, he served as a Medic in the US Air Force and worked as an Emergency Room LVN Nurse.

In this presentation, Steve Simon and Steve Thompson will describe different types of wearable technology, share information from research studies on the pros and cons and share a little about the costs for an organization.  They will also dive into artificial intelligence including the different types that are currently on the market, and insight into how AI can be used including examples of how they can benefit safety professionals.
