Description

Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 320 of the 1,008 construction fatalities recorded in 2018, according to BLS data. Those deaths were preventable.

During the National Safety Stand-Down, OSHA and ASSP will present this live webinar to increase fall hazard awareness in an effort to stop fall fatalities and injuries. We will focus on the need for comprehensive fall protection management programs in industry.

OSHA’s Scott Ketcham will provide an overview of the National Fall Stand-Down, now in its seventh year. He will also share statistics on fall fatalities and violations of OSHA’s standards.

ASSP’s Thom Kramer will share suggestions for incorporating the ANSI/ASSP Z359 Fall Protection Code into your organization’s fall protection or work at height program. He’ll explain how your organization can use the code to identify short- and long-term actions to improve safety and reduce risk for workers at height.
